My birth name is Araina. I was given that name because I was born on a rainy April afternoon and my mom was creative enough to put an "A" at the beginning and end of "rain" thus "Araina" was born. Coincidentally, Araina also happens to mean "Queen" in Latin, which suits me perfectly!

I really love my name as well as the the story and Latin meaning behind it, but I felt that my spiritual awakening required a slight name change (let's say addition), especially since everyone seems to murder the pronunciation of my name...arrrrrgggggh...drives me insane!

Dealing with all the mispronunciations is enough to drive anyone nuts! Take for instance, the beginning of the school year when roll is called for the first couple of weeks, teachers would constantly call out "Air-re-auna". I would politely respond, "No it's Araina, pronounced like Rain with an A in the front and A in the back, a-RAIN-a". When I got to college, I was tired of the mispronunciation, so I dropped the two "A's" and kept it simple with RAIN. It was much easier for people to remember, but then spelling it became an issue. "Is it spelled Reign or Rayne?", people would inquire and I would say, "No, Rain like the Rain!" and I even had a cute little jester that I adopted from the song "Chicken Noodle Soup" by Webstar Young B. From that point forward, I created a new identity. No longer was I the girl that had the foreign name that no one could pronounce; I was now the girl who everyone would point to when the word "rain" came up in songs.

The addition of Serenity was inspired during the beginnings of my healing journey; I wanted to change my facebook name to mirror the reflection of my aspirations toward healing, harmony and balance and the first thing that came to mind was "Serenity Rain". Now, it has evolved into a brand that I would like to share with the world. Serenity Reigns means that peace rules my life, despite the many obstacles and challenges. Having a serene foundation ensures that nothing can shake or uproot me; enduring chaos and still maintaining an inner calm; and remaining tranquil through the storm. I am not quite there yet, but that's why this is a journey!

This is where you come in! Grow, share and embark on this journey with me! This is a community and I would love to hear what you have to say!
What does Serenity mean to you?

What Reigns in your life?

Where are you in your journey?

What brought you to Serenity Reigns?

Lol...once Serenity Rain was given to me, it fit me so perfectly, it was a match made in heaven! This is definitely my Spiritual/higher self name! You should explore what your spiritual/high self name is? What inspires you? What is your purpose? What speaks to you? Your spiritual name comes from within--its an intrinsic journey, the more you get to know yourself it will come to you! It doesn't matter what other people call you, what do you want to be called! Claim your name Sis!!!

Pharrell’s song “I’m Happy” has plagued the world and I love it! When the song comes on the infectious words and music evokes you to let down your guards and dance and sing. In those moments you really do feel happy!

Our family has definitely been blessed on many occasions, especially when it comes to our children. I have been pregnant 3 times and each has been at-risk. I am so grateful to be able to tell our story and have 2 healthy children and being on our journey to have another healthy baby! #Proudmommy

I finally have come to the realization that I will not ever be the perfect parent. I am officially accepting myself as the imperfectly open, vulnerable, authentic , loving, compassionate, empathetic and understanding parent who has flaws!

Happy lifestyle is a great way to approach every day. In this challenge we will explore what happiness means to us and how to incorporate those things in our lives. Studies on behavioral change say that it takes 21 days to form a new habit (or break an old one).

This poem is so true!!! When I reflect on all my relationships/friendships over the past 10 years, I realize how this resonates in my life! I have people who have come into my life for reasons and initially when the relationship/friendship ended I was devastated but now when I reflect on it I understand for the most part what reason they served and I can learn from that, be thankful and grow.

Mothers Day is a bittersweet celebration for me! Though I am very grateful to be a mom and love to be celebrated I also have to face the reality of the lack of a healthy relationship between me and my own mom!

My Abundance plant: Started off a s 7 small lima beans that I planted with each seed representing something that I wanted to manifest in my Abundant Life (Love, peace, happiness, healing, harmony, balance & authenticity). It is one physical representation of abundance in my life. It reminds me to live abundantly!

Hello my name is Serenity Rain and I have emotionally immature tendencies. I’m not gonna fully claim emotional immaturity because I’m pretty emotionally mature given my upbringing and circumstances, so I will give myself credit for that...BAM!!!

So we all do it…make New Years Resolutions and then fall of the wheel! We have good intentions when we make them. We want to feel better about ourselves and do better for ourselves and the New Year seems like the perfect time to start. There is nothing like a fresh start in the New Year.
