"I hate my mother! I hate my biological father! I hate all those who have wronged me! I hate the world! I hate GOD! I hate myself! Why Me?"

From Victim to Victor

Published: March 09, 2016    Category: Healing

For years the statements above were my life story. It is what I told myself over and over again and only created more anger, resentment and rage inside of me. I was a victim to my own self sabotage, holding myself captive, pleading to anyone who would listen to save me. At first, I thought I was asking for saving from my horrible parents and life, but in retrospect I know now I needed saving from myself. I understand now that though what my parents did, others did and what happened to me was wrong, I was not letting go and I was allowing myself to constantly be hurt by the past. I kept pulling off the bandages and scabs and not allowing my wounds to heal.

Now, my wounds are healing are yes some may leave ugly scars but I am learning now to accept them. They are a part of my story but in a more positive way. They are the reason why I am who I am and why I am so passionate about my purpose and vision.  I know why the caged bird sings…because it longs to be free/because nobody can take singing away from it/ because it does it so well. When I hear stories of resilience and perseverance like Maya Angelo, Oprah and Angela Davis just to name a few, I am so inspired! These woman turned their hate, hurt, wounds, scars into passion. They inspire me to do the same. I turned my hate, hurt, wounds and scars into something positive---I want to motivate and inspire others to find passion in their pain. I want to help others persevere and strengthen their resilient bones and overcome their obstacles and fears and pursue their passions and dreams.

This is what Serenity Reigns is all about, its not just a blog or natural health products, it’s a movement! A movement to inspire all who want to join this journey to move from being victims into Victors!

Are you down with the movement? Share your Victim or Victor story! Even if you have not reached a full victory yet share your healing journey! It is therapeutic, cathartic and and healing for you and others!

Namaste

I follow alot of women in hopes of having my own victory and learning to accept those wounds as a part of what has made me who I am today. This is like my virtual sister circle. ❤ you. Peace

Awww sis, thank you for your kind words!!! I write a lot I just need to post more, but the way my life is set up...lol...it makes it difficult to post as much as I would like! I am also extra critical of myself, so I overly critique my posts before I upload them, which I'm learning to do less of because this is what this journey is about, being my authentic self flaws, typos and all!!! Thank you thank you thank you for your comment, and I look forward to connecting with you! Welcome to Serentiy Reigns, I pray that your exploration is peaceful, uplifting and healing!!! Namaste

Pharrell’s song “I’m Happy” has plagued the world and I love it! When the song comes on the infectious words and music evokes you to let down your guards and dance and sing. In those moments you really do feel happy!

Our family has definitely been blessed on many occasions, especially when it comes to our children. I have been pregnant 3 times and each has been at-risk. I am so grateful to be able to tell our story and have 2 healthy children and being on our journey to have another healthy baby! #Proudmommy

I finally have come to the realization that I will not ever be the perfect parent. I am officially accepting myself as the imperfectly open, vulnerable, authentic , loving, compassionate, empathetic and understanding parent who has flaws!

Happy lifestyle is a great way to approach every day. In this challenge we will explore what happiness means to us and how to incorporate those things in our lives. Studies on behavioral change say that it takes 21 days to form a new habit (or break an old one).

My birth name is Araina. I was given that name because I was born on a rainy April afternoon and my mom was creative enough to put an "A" at the beginning and end of "rain" thus "Araina" was born. Coincidentally, Araina also happens to mean "Queen" in Latin, which suits me perfectly!

This poem is so true!!! When I reflect on all my relationships/friendships over the past 10 years, I realize how this resonates in my life! I have people who have come into my life for reasons and initially when the relationship/friendship ended I was devastated but now when I reflect on it I understand for the most part what reason they served and I can learn from that, be thankful and grow.

Mothers Day is a bittersweet celebration for me! Though I am very grateful to be a mom and love to be celebrated I also have to face the reality of the lack of a healthy relationship between me and my own mom!

My Abundance plant: Started off a s 7 small lima beans that I planted with each seed representing something that I wanted to manifest in my Abundant Life (Love, peace, happiness, healing, harmony, balance & authenticity). It is one physical representation of abundance in my life. It reminds me to live abundantly!

Hello my name is Serenity Rain and I have emotionally immature tendencies. I’m not gonna fully claim emotional immaturity because I’m pretty emotionally mature given my upbringing and circumstances, so I will give myself credit for that...BAM!!!

So we all do it…make New Years Resolutions and then fall of the wheel! We have good intentions when we make them. We want to feel better about ourselves and do better for ourselves and the New Year seems like the perfect time to start. There is nothing like a fresh start in the New Year.
